Wacom Test Sketch

Filed under: Uncategorized — scottnelson @ 1:06 pm

monster-school.jpgI recently purchased a Wacom drawing tablet and this is my third sketch with it. I’m working on a line of NEW children’s books and trying to figure out what direction to take the art.  Wondering if this would be a better tool to work with than traditional paint. When I went to art school in 1986 , it was pretty much working with pencil, paint and ink only. All extremely important tools to learn solid design fundamentals but… times have changed. Heck, I don’t believe the school  even had a computer back then. When I graduated at age 19, I became so busy trying to run a new business drawing caricatures, cards, etc, I never had time to go back to school and learn how to use photo-shop or illustrator. Hopefully, 22 years latter I’ll REALLY start pushing myself outside my old standby (pen, paint, pencil) comfort zone. Wonder if you can teach old dogs new tricks?
